Tabs Heaven · Last updated: February 21, 2026
Tabs Heaven is built with privacy at its core. Your data stays on your device. We do not collect, track, or sell any personal information.
About Tabs Heaven
Tabs Heaven is a browser extension that lets you snooze open tabs and have them reopen gradually, one at a time, when you're ready. It helps you stay focused without losing track of important pages.
Data We Collect
Tabs Heaven stores the following information locally on your device to provide its core functionality:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Tab URLs | To reopen your snoozed tabs |
| Tab titles | To display tab names in the dashboard |
| Tab favicons | To show recognizable icons in the dashboard |
| Your preferences | To remember your settings (check interval, notification style) |
| Device identifier | A random ID used only for sync conflict resolution |
All of this data is stored using Chrome's local storage API and stays entirely on your device unless you explicitly enable Google Drive sync.
What We Do NOT Collect
Tabs Heaven does not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your browsing history
- The content of any web page you visit
- Your bookmarks
- Your passwords or form data
- Any personal or demographic information
We have zero analytics, zero tracking, and zero telemetry. No data about your usage is ever sent to us or any third party.
Google Drive Sync (Optional)
Tabs Heaven offers an optional Google Drive sync feature. This is entirely opt-in and disabled by default.
What happens when you enable sync
- You sign in with your Google account via OAuth
- Your snoozed tabs, queue state, and preferences are synced to your personal Google Drive
- Data is stored in an isolated app-data folder (
drive.appdatascope) that only Tabs Heaven can access - Sync runs periodically while enabled
What this means for your privacy
- Tabs Heaven cannot read or modify any other files in your Google Drive
- Your synced data is stored in your own Google account, not on our servers
- We do not have access to your Google Drive data
- You can disable sync and revoke access at any time from the extension settings or from your Google Account permissions
Browser Permissions
Tabs Heaven requests only the bare minimum permissions at install. All other permissions are opt-in — requested only when you use a feature that needs them, with a clear explanation before you grant access.
Required at install
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
storage |
Store your snoozed tabs and preferences locally |
alarms |
Schedule periodic checks to reopen tabs on time |
activeTab |
Detect the current tab when you snooze it |
Opt-in only (requested when you use the feature)
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
tabs |
Access tab information for snoozing and reopening |
scripting + all_urls |
Inject in-page toast notifications on any website to let you know a tab is about to reopen. The all_urls host permission is required because toasts need to appear on whichever page you're currently viewing |
notifications |
Show desktop notifications as an alternative to in-page toasts |
identity |
Authenticate with Google for optional Drive sync |
You can deny any optional permission and Tabs Heaven will still work — the core snooze-and-reopen functionality does not depend on them. However, for the best experience, we recommend granting permissions as they are requested so you get helpful notifications before tabs reopen.
Third-Party Services
Tabs Heaven does not currently use any third-party analytics, advertising, error reporting, or tracking services.
The only external service the extension communicates with is the Google Drive API, and only when you explicitly enable the sync feature. This communication is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
In the future, we may integrate third-party services solely to enhance the extension's functionality and user experience — never to track, profile, or sell user data. If and when such services are added, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
Data Retention & Deletion
All local data is stored on your device and persists until you take one of the following actions:
- Clear snoozed tabs from the extension dashboard
- Uninstall the extension, which removes all locally stored data
- Clear browser data through your browser settings
If you enabled Google Drive sync, you can remove synced data by disabling sync in the extension settings or by revoking access from your Google Account.
Disclaimer of Liability
Tabs Heaven is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the extension.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be held liable for any loss of data, loss of tabs, or any other direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Tabs Heaven. This includes, but is not limited to, data loss resulting from browser updates, extension malfunctions, sync failures, or device issues.
You acknowledge that you use Tabs Heaven entirely at your own risk.
